National Informatics Centre (NIC), established in 1976 has rich experience in providing ICT and e-Governance support to the Government for the last 4 decades. It has emerged as a promoter of digital opportunities for sustainable development. NIC spearheaded the usage of Information Technology systems and services for enhancing the productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness of social and public administration by facilitating electronic delivery of services to the government (G2G), business (G2B), citizen (G2C) and government employee (G2E). Through the nationwide network across all 37 States/ UTs and 720+ Districts, NIC is steadfast towards the development of smart digital infrastructure for empowering citizen-based services.
"e-Counselling is a one stop solution for all the examination/counselling needs right from application form, on-line fee payment, e-Admit Card, Answer Key display, e-Score Card, online selection of courses/institutes, seat allocation, document verification, online admission, seat withdrawal, reports and dashboards.
The solution cater to all the stakeholders namely Aspirants, Examination/Counselling Bodies, Participating Institutions and Reporting cum Document verification center, with end-to-end support towards a hassle-free transparent admission processes in the Technical and Academic Institutions across the country.
This system is being used by JEE(Main), JEE(Advanced), JoSAA (IITs, NITs, IIITs), UGC-NET, CTET, NEET, NCHM-JEE, CMAT, GPAT, JNU, ARPIT, etc. and many states for admission in various courses like Engineering, Medical, Architecture, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, MBA, MCA, M.Tech., Polytechnics, ITI, etc."
So far, over 70 lakhs (2019-20) session applications have been processed for 35 Examination/Counselling Bodies for more than 8 lakhs seats in various courses for more than 4000 institutes.
